Mount Chimborazo, Ecuador’s tallest mountain, offers a non-technical climb, meaning you can reach very high altitudes without encountering sheer vertical walls requiring technical skills like ice climbing.
With a summit elevation of 6,268.2 m (20,565 ft), Mount Chimborazo’s equatorial peak is also the closest point to the sun on Earth. Measured from the earth’s center instead of sea level, it stands as the highest mountain on the planet.
The high camp Chimborazo tour is an excellent choice for starting the climb at 5,300 m, saving you 2-4 hours of trekking to the summit. All gear and equipment are included in the price, making it a convenient option for climbers.
